Brexit may be overshadowing today's statement from the Chancellor, but one analyst has summed up how today's speech and parliamentary Brexit wranglings could spark even more uncertainty for consumers.
Dr Roger Gewolb, chief executive of FairMoney, said: 'Brexit is casting a large shadow over the spring statement and, for people on the breadline, a statement that could change drastically in two weeks will provide no certainty for Britain’s most vulnerable.
People need reassurances that their regular financial income will not change radically and others need to be sure that they will receive their correct benefits on time.
Like the Autumn Budget, this Spring Statement could present uncertainty to many and, with Brexit not having a cemented outcome, millions of Brits are currently in a financial limbo.'
